Kindergarten Santa Lucia Mikayla

For those of you that didn't know, December 13th is the day the girls in Sweden wear candles on their head. It's called Santa Lucia Day. As I live in a house with lots of Swedish DNA, these kinds of things can happen here as well. This was in Mikayla's kindergarten class.

Nathan had his first piano recital today. He's had 4 lessons so far.

What season is it?

Wow, it's been some time since I've added anything here. I've been trying to add a whole album of picts like my cousin Nickie has on his blog, but I havne't figure out how to do it yet. In the meantime I'll throw up some new picts to keep your attention.

Nathan didn't seem to mind too much though.

We were used to riding bikes in March in Phoenix, so why should Colorado be any different? Luke may have had a different opinion on the matter.

We moved to Colorado Spirngs in February, 20008. It wasn't long until we discovered that it snows here. As it turned out, we all adapted to the snow fairly quickly. We really liked that most, if not all, of the snow that fell would melt that very same day. Then we'd have sunny days that were really quite nice.

Maybe we're there

Ok, I think I've got the pictures how I want them. I still need to figure out how to put writing around them. My goal being to say just a few words about each picture. So, please bear with me as I experiment a little with how to do this.

Hmmmm.....that wasn't quite what I had in mind. I need to go look at other options. Hold on....

Hey hey,

Well, I put up some pictures, but I'm still trying to figure out how the posting of them works. I've seen other blogs where the pictures aren't so large. Still though, if they're not larger than the screen you can seen the details. Mostly, I'm just writing something to see how it looks to post it after I uploaded those pictures.

The Next Step

Well, today I thought I'd see about putting some pictures up on our blog. The temptation is go back an use pictures to document my entire life. I'll refrain from that for the time being. I do think I'll go back just a little in time to when the current chapter in our lives began. In early 2008 we moved to Colorado Springs. So let's start there.

Join the Club

It is now our turn to join the what must be at least hundreds of people worldwide who have blogs. It certainly appears to be a good medium for my purpose of keeping people up to date on our doings without emailing gigabytes of pictures to everyone. Blogs also seem to be a handy place to express opinions about all sorts of stuff. I will refrain from doing that most of the time, as I see this as a family show. This first entry no doubt looks very primitive. I shall endeavor to function adequitly, but it may take some time.
